Philly To Host First Annual U.S. Sports Film Festival

If you know anything about Philly, you know that we love sports.

Whether it's baseball, football, basketball, or hockey, Philadelphia is proud of its sports heritage. And now, Philadelphia has found another new way to honor its sports heritage: with the first annual U.S. Sports Film Festival.

The U.S. Sports Film festival will feature some of the best sports movies ever produced, from The Natural to Invincible. In addition to these better-known films, the festival will feature some independent and lesser-known films. One of the most interesting of the bunch is Kassim The Dream. This movie tell sthe story of Boxer Kassim Ouma, and how he overcame oppression in the Ugandan army, using boxing as his path to freedom, and eventually earning a World Champion title.

There are several special events that will accompany the festival. For example, there will be a sports memorabilia auction. There will also be a 5k run. There will be a conference on the theme of "Sports Making a Difference."

The festival will honor eight-time Emmy winner Bud Greenspan, as well as Vince Papale, who was the inspiration for Invincible.
